Hands-on care that finds the root cause
At Healing Hands, manual therapy and bodywork are at the center of everything we do. We spend most of our time analyzing your gait, posture, and mobility to determine the root cause of the problem — then we use hands-on techniques to get you moving your best, decrease compensatory movements, and improve your function.
Techniques we use
- Joint mobilizations — restore mobility and range of motion to restricted joints
- Soft-tissue mobilization — release tight and restricted tissue
- Myofascial release — free up fascial restrictions that limit movement
- Muscle energy technique — gentle, you-powered joint mobilization
- Strain/counterstrain — position-based release of tender points
- CranioSacral therapy — light-touch work for the central nervous system
Why bodywork first
Our holistic approach won’t have you doing repetitive exercises in the gym several times a week. We focus on bodywork first so you get relief from pain — then layer in targeted home exercises so the results last.

Frequently asked questions
What is manual therapy?+
Manual therapy is skilled, hands-on treatment of the joints and soft tissues. We spend most of our time analyzing your gait, posture, and mobility to determine the root cause of the problem, then use hands-on techniques to decrease compensatory movements and improve your function.
What techniques are included?+
Depending on your needs, manual therapy may include joint mobilizations, soft-tissue mobilization, myofascial release, muscle energy technique, strain/counterstrain, and CranioSacral therapy — chosen and adjusted by your doctor.
Is manual therapy painful?+
Most techniques are gentle. Some soft-tissue and joint work can feel deep, but it should never be more than you can tolerate — we work with you and adjust to your comfort.
How is this different from a massage?+
A massage relaxes muscles; manual therapy is performed by a doctor of physical therapy to treat the specific joint and tissue restrictions driving your pain and movement problems, with a clear clinical goal.
